The annual Northside Festival returns to Brooklyn on June 8-14. This year's festival will feature over 400 bands in the music section along with an innovation conference presenting 150 speakers and a film festival where over 50 films that will be screened. "Bands on the brink of major fame, innovators poised to lead the most disruptive startups and filmmakers soon to be household names are what make Northside such an exceptional gathering," said Festival Director Dana Keith. Here is the initial lineup: Northside Music happens from June 11-14 with the following bands along with full line-up to be announced will perform at multiple venues. Bands: Run the Jewels, Built to Spill, Best Coast, Neko Case, Against Me!, Lower Dens, Ex Hex, Viet Cong, Rhye, Vince Staples, Majical Cloudz, and Alvvays. Northside Innovation conference takes place from June 11-12, bringing together burgeoning entrepreneurs and startups with established innovation leaders for two days of original programming, pitch competitions, an expo and exclusive networking events. The first round of confirmed speakers - of more than 150 overall - include: Alex Blumberg, founder of Gimlet Media Lesley Eccles, founder of FanDuel Paul Budnitz, founder of Ello Or Arbel, founder of Yo Guy Vidra, CEO of The New Republic Brad Katsayuma, founder of IEX Trading Alison Schwartz, founder of Lulu Maxwell Ryan, founder of Apartment Therapy Northside Film Fest is from June 8-10.
